The Music Education Department of the University of Pretoria is situated on the South Campus and is headed by Prof Caroline van Niekerk. The subject Arts and Culture Management was introduced since 2009 as an elective in the BMus Honors degree. This subject is based on the practical management of a hands-on community service project. For 2010 the Arts and Culture students and their lecturer, Dr Zenda Nel, have decided to present a series of interactive teambuilding workshops in African Music.
