In 2012 Nina obtained her Postgraduate Diploma in Music Performance with distinction from the South African College of Music, University of Cape Town. She is the first guitarist to receive these honours cum laude. Nina completed her Bachelors in Music Performance degree at the University of Pretoria and also received a licentiate in Classical Guitar Teaching from the University of South Africa. In 2012 she was invited to partake and perform in the Volterra Project Summer School in Tuscany, Italy under the guidance of internationally acclaimed guitarist Antigoni Goni and Carlos Barbosa-Lima.
